Many DVD collectors may run into the problem of sharing their DVD movies with friends and backing up DVD files on their computer hard drive. Here I want to share a method of burning the MacTheRipper output files to DVDs.
As known to all, Mac The Ripper is an excellent free DVD Ripper for Mac users to extract videos from DVD to your hard drive, but the output formats are saved as Video_TS. If you would like to copy or backup them to DVDs for sharing or backuping. Here you could use DVD Backup for Mac which does not only support you to burn the MacTheRipper output file, but also backup DVD discs including DVD 5 & DVD 9.
What you'll need ?
- Your favorite DVD
- Blank or rewritable DVD discs
- Ripping software like MacTheRipper (optional)
- Burning software like DVD Backup for Mac
Burn the MacTheRipper output file to DVD
Step 1: Install and run DVD Backup for Mac
Install and run DVD Backup for Mac to burn the videos ripped by MacTheRipper.
Then launch it and there are three output types for you to copy the files: Backup to DVD, Backup to Local and Backup to Devices, please select Backup to DVD.

Step 2: Import the files extracted by MacTheRipper
Locate the VIDEO_TS folder in the pop up window, and click Select. Then you enter the interface as below. All titles are in the List pane.

You can decide to copy the main title (usually the longest) only or all titles by choosing Main Movie Copy” or Full Copy” under Options. If you want to copy appointed titles, choose Customized Copy” and select the titles in the List pane. If you want to copy the DVD to two Discs”, choose Split Copy.
Step 3: Burn the output file to DVD
When all settings are done, you can click Start to burn the videos ripped from MacTheRipper to DVD on Mac (Mac OS X Lion included).
Tips: To copy to another disc, you need to take out the original disc in the middle of copying and insert a blank one as the program prompts.
