I’m trying to burn my .mov movies to a DVD using iDVD. It seems the .mov files won’t be accepted by the iDVD as I drag it in, message box says Unsupported action- your last action is not supported by iDVD, if so, how can I make my .mov files as they say supported action?
iDVD cares more about the time you want to encode than the size of the files. Only H.264 (.mp4) and MPEG-4 (.mp4) are accepted by iDVD on the Mac running Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion etc..
With MOV to iDVD Converter, you can convert MOV to iDVD supported format and import MOV to iDVD with only few clicks.
Step 1. Free download and launch this MOV to iDVD Converter for Mac (Mountain Lion supported). And add MOV files by dragging and dropping, or clicking the + button.

Step 2. Click the bottom format type to reveal the output panel, and then select MPEG-4 (.mp4) from the Video tab. Optionally, you can choose the configured presets like iPod, iPhone, PSP, and iPad.

Step 3. Hit the Convert button to start converting MOV to iDVD. After few seconds, you can get a MOV which is supported by iDVD.
With MOV to iDVD Converter, now you can add MOV files into iDVD for burning .mov to DVD.
