How to download and convert FLV video on Mac?

This is a step-by-step guide on how to use AllMyTube for Mac to download online videos from YouTube, Bing, Facebook and other video-sharing sites.

Step 1: Launching AllMyTube for Mac

There are two ways to launch the program:

1. After the installation, open your Applications folder and find a folder named AllMyTube, open this folder to launch the application.

2. If you are playing a video in Safari, a download button will appear on the top of the playback window. Click the download button, and the program will be launched.

Step 2: Downloading video

AllMyTube gives you three ways to download videos.

1. Open Safari to browse the video you want to download. When the download button appears on the top of the video, click it and the video will be added to the download list.

2. Go to "Downloads" menu and choose "Enter a URL". Now just copy and paste the URL to the box, click "OK" and it is done.

3. Drag the URL of the video you are playing to AllMyTube icon on your Dock, and the video will start downloading.

Tips:

1. Why can’t I download a video even though a download button appears on the top of the play window?

Please make sure that the video is playing and is supported by the program. Some videos are RTMP (Routing Table Maintenance Protocol) encrypted, which are not supported by the program.

2. How do you download HD videos?

If you are downloading a Standard Definition (SD) video, check it to the HD mode. Click the Download button on the top of the video, in the drop down list appears two options of the size of the video. Usually, the larger one is the HD video.

3. How to download a long video with several clips?

Since the long videos are separated into several clips, when you click the Download button only after the first clip is downloaded. Then drag the play slider to the next clip. Click the download button again and in the drop down list you’ll see the second clip, click to download. You can download other clips by this way.

Note: You can go to "Preference" on AllMyTube for Mac menu to set the target video location and how many videos can be downloaded in batch each time.

Step 3: Managing Your Library

1. Manage FLV video: To manage you local FLV files, go to "Library">"Add flv files to Library".

2. Search:To search, type text in the Search box. The program will instantly find any video titles that contain the search text.

3. Play: You can play videos by doing one of the following:

Select a video in your library and press the spacebar

Double-click the video to start playing it

Right-click the video and choose “Play”.
