How to Convert DVD to Final Cut Pro (FCP) on Mac
"Hey, I need to make a trailer or music video with existing DVD movie footage for an editing project for a class. I can rip my dvd into avi format with a program, but my teacher said Final Cut Pro won't import avi files. Now, I can't load any plug-ins or software on the mac that has Final Cut Pro because they're school computers. So is there any software that can rip a dvd into a format acceptable to Final Cut Pro? (What formats does FCP accept?)"
AVI is not acceptable for Final Cut Pro. Normally, video files which playable for Quicktime can also be imported to FCP, such as MOV (*.MOV), MPEG-4 Movie (*.MP4). If you want to import a DVD movie into Final Cut Pro, a third-party software which can rip DVD FCP is needed.
